Dr. Jessica Steinbrenner is an Associate Professor in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, Department of Health Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been working with children on the autism spectrum for over two decades both as a speech-language pathologist and as a researcher. Her research interests have largely focused on school-based interventions and individuals on the spectrum with significant communication needs. Many of Dr. Steinbrenner's studies incorporate professional development (training and coaching) to support school-based professionals in implementing evidence-based practices. She is also interested in observational measurement, and has worked to adapt and use observational coding systems for social-communication, engagement, and fidelity of implementation across several research projects.
